Matt "Portuguese Solid Summer" is a chillwave classic on par with better known chillwave tracks like Washed Out's "Feel It All Around" but just as essential. I love this album because it exudes summer chillwave vibes and the kind of dancy, vibey, chill sound that has gone away these days. Even Chad Valley doesn't make music like this anymore, in my opinion. That said, his first two EPs belong in in the top ten chillwave records of all time. millionyoung's Be So True EP also belongs in this category. Favorite track: Portuguese Solid Summer.

JULIA ROBOTS ᵔᴥᵔ I’ve been on a bit of a nostalgia trip recently. So it’s amazing to find this Chad Valley EP. Beautiful early Chillwave vibes right here. The track ‘Up & Down’ had a real impact on me those years ago and I think it inspired other artists at the time.. Favorite track: Up & Down.

There are no palm trees in Oxford, so Chad Valley builds his own tropical paradise on bedrock of lush electronics. Evoking a sense of both sentimentality and conquest, Hugo Manuel as Chad Valley layers strokes of futuristic R&B atop glittering harmonies to provide the ultimate vivid listening experience.

The sort of music that is beyond time. The sort of music that you feel more than you hear. I love the fact that vaporwave/dreampunk projects like these have such extremely evocative aesthetics they directly fill your mind with sensations you didn't know you had. You'd maybe think it relies on that solely, but it's coupled with gorgeous musicianship + intense production ideas. The volume and spaces it creates just pull you in instantly whatever your initial mood was. Still stunning to this day. SUPRAQUENCER
